Questions

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?

No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, your general health in plain words, whether you use tobacco, the coverage amount you want, and the length of term. Those six pieces of information are enough for carriers to return rates. We collect your name, address, and full health details only if you choose to proceed to an application.

Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?

What you see are the rates the carriers quote for the health class you selected—Excellent, Very Good, Good, or Average. Those prices are estimates based on your answers and health class. The final premium charged is determined by each carrier during underwriting, which may confirm your health class, improve it, or adjust it. Nothing on this site is a binding offer or a guarantee of price.

What happens when I click Apply?

After you select a quote, you move into the carriers' secure application system. Your answers from the quote form prefill the application so you don't re-type everything. You can save your progress and come back to it anytime; when you are ready, you sign electronically. Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California agency (License 0B75129), handles the application process.

Will I need a medical exam?

That depends on the specific carrier, the amount you are requesting, and your health answers. Many carriers now use accelerated underwriting, which means they can make a decision quickly without requiring a paramedical exam—especially for applicants who qualify and request amounts within their programs. Every quote on this site tells you whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required for that carrier and product.

Is a longer term better?

A term length should match the period when your income would be irreplaceable to your household. That is usually the years of an unpaid mortgage, young children in the home, or business obligations. Longer terms lock in a lower rate for more years—you pay more per month, but the rate does not change. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 year terms side by side from each carrier.

Does this site sell my information?

No. The quote tool collects only the six answers needed to return rates—no name, address, phone, or email. We do not sell or share visitor data, and we do not use advertising trackers or traditional analytics. Our site counts page views using cookieless measurement. See the privacy page for a complete list of what is collected and by whom.
